Purcell is the first ever opera I sing in English language, despite the fact that I speak English fluently. Singing the main role of Belinda was both a joy and a challenge. The joy to discover this wonderful music, the challenge to work on the right english pronunciation and get back to the baroque repertoire that I haven’t sung for a few yars now. Along with Belinda I also performed the first witch so had to switch an extremely positive and an extremely negative characters through the performance, this was very fun! The performance turned out as a big success in a fully booked Theatre de la Cité, despite the +38C outside that day in Geneva. Now that it is part of my repertoire, I hope to get back to this role soon again!
